St Birinus is a welcoming well established church which meets in Morgans Vale, Redlynch next to the Infant and Primary School in Morgans Vale Road. It is part of the Forest & Avon Team Ministry in the Diocese of Salisbury within the Church of England.

People from all walks of life and from different backgrounds and cultures attend and enjoy being a diverse group all sharing in a common goal of knowing Jesus Christ and making him known in and around Morgans Vale. We help out in the local community through prayer, running events in collaboration with other local churches in and around Morgan's Vale and Woodfalls. We also support the village COE primary School.

If you want to talk, worship or use the church or community room for an important occasion then please get in touch, the church would love to hear from you.

An Evening of Songs & Stories with Bishop Andrew at St Laurence, including book signing his new book
English Grounds: A Pastoral Journey

Thursday 19th May, 7 - 9.30pm

The Forest & Avon Team Ministry are pleased to announce an evening of Stories and Songs with Dr Andrew Rumsey, The Bishop of Ramsbury, at St Laurence Church, Downton. The Bishop will bring his rich talents as both a musician and also an author of a new book, English Grounds: A Pastoral Journal. The book is rooted in the Wiltshire landscape and explores themes of place, spirituality and belonging in a series of short essays and photographs. Former Literary Editor of The Times, Erica Wagner, describes his latest title as “a marvellous book, lit by faith, love and imagination’’.

Tickets at £12 are available online or via emailing, . Tickets include a welcome drink and complimentary interval refreshments. There will be a Cash bar. All profit from the evening will be donated to Morning Star (Salisbury), a Christian charity seeking to support people in Salisbury struggling with the storms of life often leading to homelessness, mental health problems, relationship breakdown or addiction.It's going to be a fantastic evening, so if you decide to attend please try to arrive at 7pm (additional parking available at The Moot on the night), Bishop Andrew will start the evening at 730pm. O God our Creator, whose love is for everyone, strengthen our commitment and desire to love and serve all in our community.

Help us to be obedient to your command to share the good news of your son Jesus Christ and his love for the entire world.

We pray for your promised Holy Spirit to give us courage, imagination and wisdom, so that we may be guided and equipped to do your will.
